Girato nel 2009, il documentario Cairo Downtown mostra lo spaccato della
società egiziana divenuto protagonista dei moti rivoluzionari che hanno
costretto Mubarak a lasciare il potere. Ragazzi che usano la rete per fare
politica e esprimere il dissenso. I blogger egiziani sono considerati
maestri delll’attivismo in rete in tutto il medioriente: quanto questo
tipo di attivismo sia stato efficace lo abbiamo visto nelle scorse
settimane. Giovani, coraggiosi, cresciuti sotto un regime in sella dal
oltre 30 anni, hanno lottato prima di tutto contro le leggi di emergenza,
utili a consolidare il potere del rais e a rafforzare uno stato di polizia
che poteva abusare di chiunque. Ad un grande impegno nella difesa dei
diritti umani, si è aggiunta la lotta contro la corruzione diffusa, che ha
portato il Paese alla fame, ma soprattutto la voglia di democrazia.
Minacce, prigione, torture e talvolta la morte non sono bastati a
fermarli.

Should I start with a known force to the Fiera di Bergamo just passed, I coveted event. This time I was a little disappointed. It was really everything. I remember seeing there, the first jewelry made with metal wire. A Sardinian girl worked the copper in his small, but respectable, stand. Devo avere comprato qualcosa da lei. Oggi, quella stessa artigiana non potrebbe mai riuscire a coprire le spese di nolo e gestione di uno stand del genere… Mi ricordo anche di artigiani che lavoravano la paglia, di gioielli realizzati con sabbia e resina, di profumi “fatti in casa”, di veri gioielli realizzati da veri Indiani d’America, di boomerang realizzati da veri Aborigeni, di veri cappelli lapponi e dei loro mille colori... Insomma, di piccoli, veri artigiani che lavoravano i materiali più svariati, antichi e moderni. Potrò mai rivedere una fiera così??? Ai posteri..

Chiusa la parentesi fiera, vorrei cambiare totalmente argomento e segnalare idee originali ed utili per esporre e presentare i nostri bijoux. Prima o poi, tocca  a tutti noi aficionados del fai da te affrontare questo problema: come presentare in modo pratico ed esteticamente valido ciò che realizziamo?
